It was Limburg Governor Jos Lantmeeters who was given the honor of officially opening the new headquarters of telecom and IT group Essec. The 3-storey building in Tessenderlo is part of more than 8 million in investments that entrepreneurs Johan Deroy, Luc Achten and Peter Jans are making in new infrastructure for the group.

“The old head office had become too small,” said the 3 Musketeers, who, together with the late Mark Decat, took over the company from the now deceased founder Luc Lowette. “We were already thinking about adding and renovating, until our neighbor Eric Bongaerts from Moderna Printing showed interest in the building during a bicycle ride. Almost at the same time we came into contact with construction company Cordeel, which still had a piece of land in Tessenderlo in its sleeve. And one thing led to another.” Exactly one year after the start of the works in May 2022, the staff could already move to the new location.

A demo room has been set up on the ground floor of the building, which is located between the new Group Bruno gas station and the Maes Containers business premises. You will find, among other things, a hospital room, where the calling system of the Essec subsidiary Indigo Care is demonstrated. There are also workplaces for sales support and other administrative functions. One floor higher is Indigo Care’s R&D department, as well as production. Other support jobs and meeting locations are located on floor 2.

With the new building, Essec is armed for the future. “There is sufficient space to give shape to our growth ambitions,” say the managers. “A new working environment also provides a new dynamic. Our colleagues enjoy carrying out their tasks in complete comfort, and that certainly benefits the team spirit.” The Essec group is expected to achieve a turnover of 40 million this year with more than 100 employees.
